The DFNDR Armor® Handgun Rated Level IIIA system is the lightest weight areal density armor that DFNDR produces. Our level IIIA hard armor panels are designed to various dimensional options to provide the highest area of coverage within your backpack.

DFNDR Armor® Backpack Armor is equipped with a state-of-the-art Trauma Mitigation Base to minimize the energy of an impact dramatically. All threats specified are tested at muzzle velocity and are listed in the ‘threat profile’ table below which describes the rated ammunition this armor system will defeat.

The DFNDR Armor® Level IIIA system is engineered with the highest grade of ballistic materials; an ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) fiber, bound with a resin matrix to make it a hard stand-alone armor system and equipped with Spall-Tek to further reduce deflection of projectile fragments. This armor can be inserted into almost any backpack (measure your backpack, bag or purse to ensure optimal fitment). 

The DFNDR Armor® Level IIIA system is independently tested to the NIJ 0101.04 protocol and NIJ 0108.01 protocol for the thin profile option at NIJ Certified Ballistic Labs.
